We offer individual counseling for a variety of issues. Individual counseling is a process of self-understanding and personal growth, leading to a more fulfilling life and healthier relationships with others. The counseling relationship between you and your counselor is a sacred space where you will be encouraged to explore your past and look openly at your present. Your feelings, life experiences, desires, hurts and fears will be handled in a sensitive and caring manner.
Healthy relationships are vital to our well-being and regardless of what type of relationship you’re in anyone can benefit from mutual counseling. Pre-marital, Marriage, Divorce and Custody situations can all be significantly improved through counseling. Old wounds, conflicts, family secrets, communication and reconciliation are areas where relationships can grow and change. Though all relationships are unique, here are some of the common areas that are often addressed in counseling:
- Abuse: Verbal, Emotional, Physical, Sexual
- Affair Recovery
- Blended Families
- Conflict Resolution
- Domestic Violence
- Family of Origin
- Personality Disorders
- Pre-Marriage Counseling (Prepare/Enrich)
Where do you turn when you need direction and a plan on how to more
effectively parent your teenager, or where can a teenager turn to get some
direction on how to navigate the difficulties and obstacles of life? We have
experienced clinicians who specifically enjoy and are extremely effective
with the adolescent population.
Child therapy can help pre-school, elementary and middle school ages address their own individual concerns. We offer therapeutic support when children feel burdened by peer problems, family conflicts, the pressures of school, parent-child conflicts, concerns about depression/anxiety, navigating a parent’s divorce, behavioral concerns and a wide variety of other issues. Child therapy can help children better understand their situation and help make changes to better cope and heal. Child Therapy can involve just the child, a parent or primary caregiver, or other family members as well.
All families experience periods of stress. The goal in family counseling is to help family members improve how they interact with one another in the following areas:
- Relating in more helpful ways
- Integrating blended families
- Resolving family conflicts
- Problem solving creatively
- Recognizing and drawing on each other’s areas of strength
- Understanding and appreciating each other’s differences
We offer a variety of groups, click on link below for more detailed information about each group offered.
We believe all counseling is values based. At Hardy & Stephens Counseling Associates we offer the choice of being counseled from a Christian perspective. If clients request, we may include the use of prayer, Biblical reference, Biblical principles as well as the spiritual disciplines. Treatment objectives are focused on empowering clients towards emotional and spiritual healing by equipping them with tools and information to integrate their physical, mental and spiritual health.
Hardy and Stephens Counseling Associates offers free counseling by our intern/extern therapists who are working on finishing their training to become a licensed therapist. All of our other counselors here are licensed with years of experience. The free counseling is offered to people who don’t have insurance and who do not have the ability to pay as we want to be a blessing to the community.

Research shows that EMDR is rapid, safe and effective. EMDR does not involve the use of drugs or hypnosis. It is a simple, non-invasive patient-therapist
