Wendy Muenchow

Wendy Muenchow is a psychotherapist who is in the process of completing her state licensure as Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling through Liberty University.

Wendy has had the opportunity to see a variety of clients with an assortment of issues including trauma, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, life coaching, alcohol and drug dependence, adolescent struggles (including self-harm), and more.  She has had specialized training in trauma counseling and utilizes EMDR which is a particularity powerful tool to promote healing. Wendy has also received certificates of training through the American Association of Christian Counselors in the areas of crisis and first responder assistance, acute stress, grief, and trauma care, PTSD and combat stress. Her passion is working with clients who have been through severe trauma (including sexual abuse, sex trafficking, ritual abuse, and other forms of extreme trauma), and have developed PTSD, Dissociative Disorders, and other related struggles. She is also a certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator and can offer premarital counseling and assessment through the P/E program.

Wendy uses an integrative therapeutic approach from a variety of theoretical models including Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and alternative therapies (including art, music, drama, play therapy). The interventions and techniques she uses are tailored to the individual’s specific needs in order to aid the clients in reaching their goals for therapy. She believes in a holistic approach including physical, emotional, and spiritual healing for the whole person. As a committed believer and follower of Jesus, she understands the importance of a healthy spiritual life (along with emotional and physical health). This in mind, she welcomes clients to incorporate their faith within the therapeutic setting if they wish.

Wendy enjoys a variety of activities to enrich her personal life as well.  She enjoys spending time with her husband and children, using art and drama for expression, and being outdoors, taking pleasure in God’s beautiful creation.
